Padmaavat - Movie Review ( 3/5 stars)

This story is a folklore and everyone knows how it ends so what I am about to say next cannot be considered as a spoiler. The last sword fight sequence between Alauddin Khilji and Ratan Singh followed by Rani Padmaavati's walk into the pyre is one of the most aesthetically shot and executed scene I've ever seen on silver screen. It’s a cinema spectacle where everything gels perfectly together and creates a very balanced, intense sensory experience for the audience. Having said that rest of the film is a total opposite story.

Matt Damon’s Downsizing is like a low on filling spring roll. You pick it up by looking at the perfectly crisp golden-brown exterior but as soon as you bite, you realize the lack of filling. And from then onward every bite is different depending on the amount of filling you get. That’s exactly how my experience was with Downsizing.

De Ijazat is Hum TV’s new drama serial starring Mikaal Zulfiqar and Zarnish Khan. I was excited about this project as I have always liked Mikaal Zulfiqar’s selection for drama productions but sorry to report that this one disappointed me. I am wondering how a great entertainment channel like Hum TV gave this production green light. I was not planning to review but it’s so bad that it compelled me to review it.
